Her last call was from a new cell phone…
Do you see the motorcycle?
Now do you see it?
The Honda motorcycle rider was travelling at approximately 85mph.
The VW driver was talking on a cell phone when she pulled out from a side street, apparently not seeing the motorcycle. The rider’s reaction time was not sufficient enough to avoid this accident.
The car had two passengers and the bike rider was found INSIDE the car with them.
The Volkswagen actually flipped over from the force of impact and landed 20 feet from where the collision took place.
All three involved (two in the car and the bike rider) were killed instantly.

Week 5 and Spaghetti Trees
Today sees the start of my 5th week of jury service. The end is in sight though as we just have the closing speeches and judge’s summing up before we go out to deliberate.
It is starting to feel as though this is my full time job and the staff even know me by name.
I did have a bit of fun this morning though when a fellow juror was talking about buying a pasta maker. I convinced them that pasta from a pasta tree tastes so much better and that I have one growing in my garden.

Had some thunder and lightning earlier and it looks like more is on the way. Nothing quite like a good storm to clear the air after some hot weather and of course, as our ancestors knew, lightning helps to release nitrogen in the soil so it is fitting that that Thor is honoured by those who grow things and work the land.

It seems like so long ago that I started jury service. Actually it was June 6th so it was quite a long time ago. The trial is going to last at least until the end of next week. There are 3 defendants and 6 charges so for every witness called by the prosecution there were 3 cross examinations and re-examinations.
The first man’s defence has just finished so there are two more to go followed by the summing up from both side and then the deliberation starts.
I can’t say it has not been interesting but I am at the point now where I want it to end. The court is hot, the jury room is hot, the seats are hard and uncomfortable, there is only one person to serve lunch or even tea or coffee which means that after queuing it is time to go back into court. Yes, the novelty has worn off.
Posting this update I was trying to think of a suitable song to go with it….I think this is fitting, although I don’t think the judge appreciated me calling him Mama Mia! :
I’m a prisoner of the state!
Well today was due to be my last day of jury service, having given up two weeks of my like to do my duty to society.
I say WAS because yesterday I was selected to serve on a trial due to last 2-3 weeks. In a world where common sense reigns the people here on their first week would have been selected, but this is not such a world.
The judge gave us all 30 mins to go away and write down any reasons why we could not serve on this jury but it appears that only paralysis or death qualified. Being responsible for the training and performance of 50 people or that I had plans for the Solstice didn’t cut any ice. He stared down at me from his throne, having read my note, and said “you will serve on this jury”.
Fortunately the trial is not boring and although I can’t go into details it involves some very serious offences.
So camping out for the Solstice is now out of the question. I could do it, see the Sun come up and then get to court, but i would struggle to keep my eyes open in court as there is not much sleeping going on when we camp out.
My only hope, as we sit here waiting for a missing juror is that he doesn’t show and the jury has to be dismissed.
Another week in court
Second week of jury ser ice this week. Las week was mostly sitting around and although i was called for 4 juries i only got selected for one.
On that case which took a couple of days we found the accused guilty in about 5 minutes and then found he is already serving time for various violence and drug dealing offences, so I was quite happy with that one.
Hopefully I will get a chance to find someone innocent who is bring stitched up by the state, which was the case last time I did jury service.The jury is the last thing that stands between an innocent person and jail.
The wheels of justice
Well I sat around until 12.50 before getting selected for a jury, and then at 1pm the trial was adjourned for lunch!
At least I have bought something more substantial to read…
Here I go again
Back up to London for jury service. I never got selected at all yesterday so managed to read Roadcraft: The Police Motorcyclists Handbook from cover to cover. Not the most thrilling read but an essential one for anyone who rides.
Have to be at court a bit later today so missed the mass hoards of commuters. I now share the train with what appears to be representatives of every nation and can hear not a word of English.
Of course the establishment would call it wonderful diversity, but it is not the great diversity that is created naturally, which IS wonderful, it is a false and forced diversity which is now becoming colonisation and replacing the native folk.

Yes, there has been a better time… Like when it is not poring with rain.
Although I would rather be visiting Kent in the rain than heading into Central London for jury service which is what I am doing now.
Back in action
I haven’t used this site much recently due to other commitments but now I have the WordPress app on my phone there will be no stopping me
