A WAY OF LIFE

All true religion is organic. Each people has its own indigenous organic religion with its roots extending deep into the history of its folk. Odinism is the modern day expression of the organic religion of the Germanic peoples of Northern Europe.

Our ancestors were renowned for qualities that formed part of their way of life, their religion, and reflected their awareness of a unity in which the cosmos is one with mankind and the whole of nature.

Our Gods & Goddesses
We know that our Gods & Goddesses exist, we can see, feel and sense them. They are manifested in the various forms, in the summer and the winter, sunshine and storm, hill, river and plain.
Because it is in keeping with our culture and our tradition, Odinists give names to the Gods & Goddesses who show themselves to us in this way. Odin, Thor, Frey, Freya, Baldur, Frigga and Tyr. Even the days of the week are named in honour of our Gods

Home and Family
We regard the family and home as the main foundation of our religion, believing that honour and the family are the most important elements of a stable society. Our ancestors knew the importance of the family and the vital role of nurturing their children. We must nurture our children also, so we can guarantee the future of our folk in a time when its very existence is under threat.
